Made by Hammer Quatermass and the Pit was a sequel to two of their earlier films both of which revolved around the amazingly named protagonist Professor Bernard Quatermass and all of which inspired by the BBC TV series written by Nigel Kneale.

When TV and radio comedian Joe Cornish was mugged by a gang of kids on his way home in 2001 little did he realise that the excruciating event would be the impetus behind his first feature film – the amusingly awesome action packed alien creature feature Attack the Block.

Ever since we saw it at last years Frightfest we have loved Gareth Edwards low-budget sci-fi horror road trip movie Monsters and finally it is being released on DVD and Blu-ray on 11th April so everyone can enjoy it.

Aliens have been invading our cinema screens since the 1950’s. The swell of popularity in science fiction surged into cinemas with movies like The Day the Earth Stood Still and The War of the Worlds capturing peoples awe and attention, entertaining and alarming them in equal measures.
